I see occasionaly pheasants in the wild, (at least i think they are) are they native? and does anybody keep them? or have photos? |

People think the Pheasant Coucal when they see it is a pheasant and it does look like one but its not. I know there are 'common' pheasants considered to be wild pheasants but I would not call them australian pheasants |

I have seen wild rings not far from my place but they would be escapees or dumped |

There are a few large colonys in northern nsw and in parts of victorias hill area some for shooting I believe |

We have a few of the brown ringnecked here on the farm we think they came from a farm a km away that farmed them for food process they are nice and are good with the chickens when they visit |

I was told by the man at the zoo that the coucal pheasant was a pheasant but that seems to be not true. |

Tell him he needs to google them and see I think their name gives it away pheasant coucal and not coucal pheasant |
