My first setting of Mongolian Ringneck Pheasant eggs are pipping and hatching as we speak. I only had 10 eggs in the first setting, but two are out already and a few more are pipping. [smilie=a_cookiemonster.gif] [smilie=a_cookiemonster.gif]

I just had to tell somebody.

Six out now. All standing up perfectly and sqeaking for water and food. I'll get them out of the hatcher this afternoon and into the brooder. That way five of the six will be close to 24 hours old.

Eight chicks hatched now. I didn't expect that many out of 10.

Pheasant fertility is usually very good especially with the ringnecks you should expect 90-100% fertility

congt334 on the chicks

Eight perfect little babies are running around the brooder. One fully formed chick dead in the shell (my fault as I broke the rules and kept opening the hatcher to remove chicks and I let the water tank run dry) and one egg failed to develop. I'm stoked and a bit worried I might not have enough room here to cope with the volume as I have four more larger settings of Mongolians and a large setting of Chukar Partridge in the Sportsman Incubator as we speak.
