Lost one of my girls today, she has been underweight, so i was instructed to feed her a specific diet and make sure she at all of it each day, which i did. but today i woke to find her just outside the coop struggling to stand up and just lying on her side a few minutes later she passed away,
people say chooks hide their illnesses until just before they die and thats just what she did.
what do you think happened?

Peter

Lilly the leghorn, (my favorite) she was a very passive bird, who would speak when spoken to.

Sorry to hear that Peter16. Some poultry can mask their symptoms and appear to just die but most will have some symptoms like loss of weight. Keep an eye on the others for the next 2-3 weeks.

Thanks
