Cydectin is my fav but I use the powder as well but it mainly in the nest boxes = mixed with the bedding material

I suggest you try one for one bottle then change to the other to see which you prefer and which the lice are more susceptable to

forgot to mention I use it each time I get an Electricity bill - that way I know to do the birds (and to condemn the electricity prices sidesplit.gif )

yr both welcome
FYI - you can safely overdose with Cydectin but I dont recommend it as the stuff isnt cheap and the more accurate you are the further to bottle will go

What about diatomaceous earth added to the dustbath. It's kills lice and prevents re-infestation and it's a natural product.

I wonder about using cattle products off-label on laying chickens. It may get rid of the lice and be fine for eating cattle or chicken meat after a short withholding period, but lots of chemical products (and medicated feeds) advise not to eat eggs for quite a while after using chemicals on laying hens because of the chemical residues they pass through to the eggs.

I have been wondering about that should I not eat eggs for a certain time after I treat them? Thanks for mentioning that Brownie
