He is isn't he PP :-D

How's lady Frances' egg colour going?

I will have to post a picture update of Lolly & Pickle. Lolly is huge & pickle is little? I don't know what is going on as Pickle always has a full crop but her feather development & growth is being nothing compared to how big Lolly is.

Cheers

At least you're getting some eggs - still none from my regular flock - new Wyandotte is laying 1 every 2 days...

Yeah I'm getting heaps everyday :-D But I do have 7 commercial girls & only 2 heritage breeds,so we are in very different circumstances.

Plus, you live in Canberra, where its freezing!

If I was a chookie I'd give up laying eggs too til it was warmer too chicken4.gif

Lady Frances eggs are not as chocolate in colouring as they once were, but that is to be eggspected.

They still taste delicious though!

Nice play on words there PP

Lady Frances' eggs are still a lovely colour though aren't they [smilie=a_goodjobson.gif] , and the yolk looks an awsome colour.

How have you found her egg production from last year :?:

Post us a recent picy of the pretty one's eggs next :-D , has her egg colour faded at all?

Cheers

The girls get lots of fresh greens like spinach, silverbeet and kale and corn and even grated carrot.

No eggs from the Pretty One since the end of a HOT summer, she is getting long in her hen's teeth, she is possibly 5 this Spring.

Need some new girls ;) Definitely need some new girls and a proper chook run and a farm and a Maremma [smilie=a_dreaming.gif]

5! Really [smilie=a_holycrap.gif] Wow! Well then it will be special when you get another egg from her. :-D that is a picky we will all be waiting for [smilie=a_goodjobson.gif]

How many girls are you allowed in your neck of the woods PP?, and how come you haven't succumbed to the chicken expansion programme(dint know what see to call it  ) like the rest if us! My population just seems to be growing. I've given up running it past the hubby now, I just bring two more hone and he just has to climb ova that hill and get over it [smilie=a_rolling.gif]

Back on topic, and Clara still hasn't laid an egg yet either, but her combs & wattle are starting to get redder so I think that's a good sign [smilie=a_cookiemonster.gif]

I'm dreaming of blue eggs now [smilie=a_dreaming.gif] Still keeping my fingers crossed at least either one of my new little darlings is a hen :-D Blue eggs for my spring multi-coloured basket.
