some one else has suggested she possibly has mareks, how would i know, cause im now a little concerned, cause i also still have that frizzle with a sore foot/ leg. If this is mareks, am i best to somehow dispose of mrs frizzle and mrs snowball. gosh ive never done something like that , is there a humane way. How long should i let this go on , as for frizles foot whats an ideal sort of healing time, im sure its been two months, and mrs snowball has been like this a good month id say,

Hi Cammochick, with regards to the Pekin, we have posted in your topic Mareks or Rickets Is the Frizzle using her leg? Is she putting any weight on it? Some leg injuries can take many months to heal and some will never recover, it's all a matter of time unfortunately. Is the sore leg affecting the Frizzle with eating or drinking? Does she still have good body weight?

Thanks
P.A

the frizzle just scrunches her foot up and does not use it at all, she does still eat and drink , but is fairly skinny with that bone protruding out, she has always been like this since i got her, i am using some other ingredients now that people have suggested to fatten her up. I was just worried cause i read in that mareks that it can start in one foot and spread, she hasnt really got any worse than when i originally first posted the thread. i guess if she gets worse and its spreads then i will know. later im going to post some chickens that are old that i was given who have ugly legs, hoping someone can tell me what that is, i read somewhere that birds with mareks can have scaly ugly legs.

Hi Cammochick, assuming she can move her leg, this will be a lack of circulation to her foot. This may never repair, but she should adapt. If it's been weeks then it would have already shown more symptoms. Doesn't sound like the too are related?

Thanks
P.A

Hi Cammochick, it's never easy to put a bird down, but unfortunately its part of keeping poultry.

We hope that’s the last problem you will have for quite a while.

Thanks
