Hi, Beccy wave.gif ,

Sorry about your chookie.

What did you drench her with?

Can you post a photo of her poop?

Here is some information on poop from a previous thread on yellow urates.

Black poo may suggest digested blood in the droppings.
Keep an eye on her and see if she continues to produce them and if she shows any signs of being unwell. Sometimes these sorts of droppings are temporary.

Hi

I know this is an old post but my 2 month old chickens are pooing black poos.

They were doing this before as well, so I started giving them some lacto bacillus in their water & feeding them scrambled eggs and it started to change the colour back to a normal colour but since I've stopped it's gone back to black.

Some are a bit runny & some are a perfectly normal shaped poo with a white cap but they're completely jet black.

I thought it could be blood like Parvo suggested but wouldn't their conditions be getting worse?

As part of their history: I did have to give them Baycox as I'm not too sure if they were all affected but I know at least one of them had Coccidiosis as I found a blood poo one day. So that's when I gave the treatment and followed it up 5 days later as an extra preventative measure.

Could this be the reason?

What should I do to try & help them?

Cheers
Chicka-Dee

I think its the reason so leave it a couple of weeks and see if it clears
