The lime I buy is called Garden Lime ....i buy it in bunnings....the lime that burns and is dangerous is the builders lime which is used to lime wash their pen which is fine when watered down and allowed to dry...but not to be spread on the ground.

Garden lime is scattered around where they scratch..i prefer to use Pestene in their straw and nesting boxes to prevent mites...and give tgem regular dust baths with Pestene.....

Diatomaceous Earth (DE) is the ultimate pest preventing product is some peoples opinion ...food grade only....

Does it kill all the types of worms?

Jindi...i personnally throw the ag lime (garden lime)around their pen and dust baths to get rid of mites, flies, fleas and other itchies but I believe the DE is used for worms if you dont want to vaccinate...you just throw that around too, but needs to be Food Grade and you can eat it yourself for bloating and digestive problems so very safe....

I am very very surprised to still see Poultry websites suggesting the use of hydrating lime in poultry care when it is a burning dangerous lime that should not be ingested.
