have been looking for a source of antibiotics to try and treat one of our sickly hens, without going to the $$$ VET. I thought i'd seen a pet product supplier with some but now cannot find it. I know many of you will be saying whats wrong with the hen, and is it worth all the trouble to persevere with something that may be a loosing battle, but just can't stand the way vets cull anything under the excuse of some disease without being able to tell you what exactly it is, just because chooks are churned out by the dozen! She's a free ranging IsaBrown X RR, good layer only about 2 years old with lythargy, poor appetite, pale comb, poo was runny with undigested grain but now green paste (almost normal). Had been like this several months ago but then got better, but now sick again. She's had Ivermectin 2 weeks ago, so hopefully nothing to do with parasites. Have six other hens fine.

about two months ago, so about two weeks ago I decided to get some fertile eggs from our kids Ag School and put them under her. There are about 18 eggs under her, with one hatching on Thursday ![[smilie=18_13_1.gif]](./images/smilies/18_13_1.gif "18_13_1")
which may be a Barnvelder (maybe misspelt??) and awaiting for the rest, couple of Rhode Island Red's, Golden Laced Wyndote's, Bantum's, Barnvelder's and New Hampshire's, so hopefully i'll have a good mixture
