Hey PA,
ive been learning about coccidiosis and found this site, perhaps my birds are recovering as they have not died yet???

Hi Peter16, yes they could be if they are still alive after 8-9 days, it doesn't kill all infected birds but they can spread it though. We would still treat them with a Sulpha based treatment.

Thanks
P.A :lol: :lol:

I just read some stories about coccidiosis on some other forums (not as good as this one hehehe :lol: ) and there birds pretty much died over night one blood was found in droppings and my girls are still kicking, none the less ill get onto that sulphaquinn, they also mentioned "sulmet" have you heard of this, would you recomend it?
ill call some places tomorrow and hopefully they will have what i need.
P.s what can i expect to pay for a small dosage of the medication?

thanks, Peter

Hi Peter16, yes we have heard of Sulmet Solution 12.5% don't know if you can get it in Australia? We use Sulphaquin & it's usually readily available from most Pet shops & Produce stores.

INCA - SULPHA - QUIN
125 mL = $13
250mL = $18
500mL = $30

Price may vary from state to state

Thanks
P.A :lol: :lol:

Sulpha D has been around many years, it will do but Sulphaquin is better. There is always a shortage of Sulphaquin this time of year, the stores never stock-up.

Thanks
