I lift my boodies off the starter eggs and then replace all the eggs with the new evenly then let her go back on the eggs herself which 99% of the time is straight away

I've ended up slipping them under her flanks so we'll wait and see how it goes.

I caught mine sitting on the barnvelders huge egg this morning! I'm thinking it might be time to get some fertile eggs.

Once they hatch though, what happens with introducing them all to the rest of my little flock? I know it will be a few weeks, but they will out grow the cage fairly soon I would think so how do you go about it?

Good luck to everyone hatching :) a_bravo.gif

I've got mine in a smaller pen, not the most generous amount of room but not too bad. The problem I find is the chicks/pullets are on chick starter or pullet grower which has a coccidiostat in it and therefore a withholding period on eggs for consumption, it's impossible to have the layers in the same pen and prevent them from eating the wrong food.

Can I move a silky hen and eggs from one box to another and she will stay on the eggs?

You should be able to, I've managed to do it a few times. I move them at night when I expect they are fairly placid ND are going to stay still to roost overnight anyway. I find they wake in the morning, still on their eggs, just the wallS happen to look a bit different. Like one of those overnight renovations.... Hehhh, I sense a new reality show coming up. :-D
