Which egg candling light do you think I should go for

You can purchase an egg candler, choose one within your own budget.
You can also use any good strong torch or make a small box covering a standard light globe with an medium oval hole cut in the top to concentrate light through the egg at candling.The box can be a temporary measure made of cardboard or a more permanent fixture made of plywood or similar.
Both options are far cheaper and can be a family project to inspire the children to be innovative and self sufficient in adapting what is available to achieve your goals.

I bought a normal torch (80 lumens, I think) from a camping shop and it works really well on turkey ggs so it would be fine with chicken eggs I would think. I also found really useful information on a range of topics, including candling, on the Bellsouth website.

I have a BCF not far I could check it out can I ask how much was the torch?

I was thinking of the STANDARD - $29.99
Standard for pale, plain shells

as it is within my budget well but want something that works really well

I use a torch and a piece of cardboard with a small hole to direct the light through the egg

Make sure you get a LED torch with a small lens and high enough lumens.
Mine is 120 lumens and looks like this one, but mine is a fenix and cost $50
