wave.gif PP,

no new babies. I don't think the remaining 3 are viable. I might take them away tomorrow night.

I haven't had time to take more photos today. Hopefully you can come over on Friday or the weekend for a cuddle of your babies.

Yes, you could almost ride a wave down hill to mine. Look on the bright side, I don't need to water tag fruit trees in the chook run :-D

So how many did you eggs did you incubate under pumpkin & how many ended up hatching out in total?

Hi Chicka,

We had 6 under her and three hatched. Not bad 50% hatch rate.

Oh yes well done! th_clap.gif

I have 12 eggs in my incubator & I think only 3 have fertilised so Pumpkin has done a fantastic job [smilie=a_goodjobson.gif]

Looking forward to finally meeting the babies, it has been a hectic week with study.

I am going to call them The Three Caballeros, but hoping they are all girls!

Thank you, kindly 52.gif Chickababe and Pumpkin for hatching three beautiful babies a_bravo.gif a_bravo.gif a_bravo.gif

Hello PP,

I am looking forward to you meeting the babies. They are so cute, tiny and soft.

Sadly i have to report that one barnie chick was found dead under miss pumpkin last night while checking on them at 7.30pm. So now they are under a light in a big cardboard box in my lounge room. They are nicely settled now and dont make a lot of noise. They seem happy after missing mum last night for a short time.

Now we are sure miss pumpkin may suffer from post traumatic hatching disorder when she hatches chicks. She is a great sitter but the chicks need to be brooded away from her. She's gone back to Saffy. Sage has also deserted her babies which leaves Penny with her boy. I think she could stay with him for a long time if we let her. She was always meant to be a mother.

Hope to see you soon.

[smilie=a_holycrap.gif] Chickfanticed  How many babies have met their demise with Miss Pumpkin?

Are there any more eggs on your farm hatching to replace the dead chick?

So sorry for your loss

[smilie=a_holycrap.gif] :cry: [smilie=a_holycrap.gif]

That is so tragic :(

Do you think that Miss Pumpkin knows that the babies are not Silkie chicks? I wonder why she rejects her babies and kills them?

Thank you, kindly 52.gif Chickababe for letting me visit the two remaining babies today. It is so sad and tragic about the other baby Barnie :( Now there are only Two Caballeros.

Chickie 1 and Chickie 2 are ever so cute and absolutely adorable. Thank you, kindly 52.gif for all your help.
