Post subject:  Native Waterfowl - Expressions of Interest

Just a post to see who is after what in terms of species. I keep and breed natives, and a few exotic waterfowl. But i find that i am forever going over the same literature and interpretations of information on waterfowl. I'm interested to know who keeps them around australia, and just to know where the different species stand within captivity.
I find it a pleasure to keep and maintain the natives especially, as they all have many different characteristics, some very unique, and always entertaining. Because they are only held in low numbers, we need to communicate amongst keepers or intending keepers to ensure they're sustained in these captive populations.

They are all under licence, otherwise i could not obtain them. Private breeders list? Didnt know there was one, as lots of that information would be confidential?? Do you also keep waterfowl perthpal?

Never said there was any private breeders list what I said was licence listing and you can get that from DEC it lists all species allowed under licence. Yes I do have a few species of waterfowl. I will check out DEC tomorrow on the current native and foreign waterfowl list

All my waterfowl are licensed, which had to be added,as there is no list for waterfowl in w.a., which states you can and cant keep. all my birds including chestnut teal and grass whistlers had to be put on the licence even though they are commonly kept.
What species do you keep?

I have only recently added the pink eareds to the collection, and added them as normal. why do you have so much concern over this species? have you not been able to find them in w.a.? lots of people import birds to w.a. over the years, what would be the problem with pink eareds? what do you keep??
