Hi There CTP
I was just going through the waterfowl index and discovered your photoe and went a_bravo.gif
I have four gorgeous boys here and we will not part with them....
I bought them as very young fledglings and it was difficult to sex them but the people that bred them wont part with any more.
Best $40.00 we ever spent...
But in our pursuit for some girls sidesplit.gif
Next funny joke????
I cannott find anything in the Khaki Campbells like these for my boys...
Our boys are just wonderfull and they are here to stay...
We have great facilities and have just purchased 2 lovely Indian runner girls and I purchased what we thought (in the pouring rain and at a market with everyone honking quacking and clucking at once) were two Khaki Campbell girls.
Get them home and once they dried out and we seperated them from the real girls we found we had bought two (lovely by the way) Chocolate Indian runner boys.I rang the chap that I bought them off and he is happy to change them, but thinking I will keep one of them for my Indian Runner girls.
One is a grey/blue and white (dusky??) and the other is a caramel/apricot and white.
Excuse my ignorance but still learning the breeds, but my quote on my page says it all [smilie=a_withstupid.gif]
I really want Khaki Campbell girls but what would be the result of crossing the Khaki boys with the Indian Runner girls??
Keeping in mind I am not into show birds, just want nice duckies.
All the sites are saying 6 females to a male for ducks, but there are a lot of trios on the market I noticed....
Hope you can help me out as I know you are a long way from me but thought you might know of someone that has some girls for us....

Hi, Flying Ducky, I don`t know your location but The campbells were very popular to sell here and I`d guess there will be some young campbells available in the area somewhere. The campbells dominated the females and didn`t seem fussy as to breed chioce. However life here has been more settled for the mallards since the campbells were all rehomed. Sadly I miss some of them but love the mallards (six male & ten female at the moment) I have whites , fawn, caramel colored, dark and standard in the ducks plus silver and natural in the drakes. I to just have the ducks as pets but have found they make their own mate choice as well as acknowledgement of breed conformity. e.g. while the campbells were here most of the males chased my one and only white away but since she has bred more white mallards she has been well accepted. :) they`re happy with more girls around.
