Some of the crosses look good but useless for breeding

I think that is one of the good things about buying the mules is they can't breed so they look good in with the other pure breeds like your moscovies. The mules come in some really nice colours too and I find them so friendly especially around kids and pets

Yes good points there, I am going to keep them just because I like the colours and they are friendly as you say but I won't buy any more as I do want to breed a few and sell a few for feed money

I've kept waterfowl for almost 50 years and always believed that the muscovy/mallard cross was infertile. About 5 years ago I picked picked up some muscovies that a woman was giving away. While therre she also asked me if I wanted a pekin as well. She pointed it out from a distance and I could see it wasn't a pekin but I had no idea what it was. Basically white with a bit of black around the head and it's stance was somewhere between that of a pekin and a muscovy. There was a thin line of red fleash at the base of the beak and no curly tail feathers. It hisses like a muscovy drake as well. Anyway I observed this duck mating with mallard derivitives, muscovies and even chinese geese. After this I got some unusual looking ducklings with one looking almost the same as the original and some females that looked a little like a black duck. I don't have any mallards just indian runners and pekins. The next year I got two black coloured ducks that carried themselves the same as the original male. Also in the second year I got some small females that look like an indian runner that walks like a muscovy and flies very well. These females lay a very small egg about the size of a bantam's. I'm certain the male I picked up was a muscovy/mallard derivitie cross and is fertile. Does anyone know where I may be able to send some photos for someone to look at. Oh also these strange offspring grow rapidly
