Hi all,

I am possibly getting a few egyptian geese in the next 2 weeks or so. I was wondering if anyone has any experience keeping them and possibly any handy tips? It will be 5 related siblings so my first problem will be sourcing unrelated birds to swap hopefully, I want to avoid inbreeding if possible.

Thanks,

Matt

I had a pair about 3 years ago but never bred 1 gosling so I sold them to a lady in Geelong I will see if I still have her number for you

Thanks for the info, and sorry for the late reply I lost track of this thread.

I have the birds now, 2 males and three females, very happy with them and they are settling in well. I have contacted Adelaide Zoo, I should receive that info really soon.

Thanks again and heres hoping I can swap some then breed some!

mrpeabody do you let the geese brood their own eggs or do you use an incubator? I have heard they are not the best brooders but its just what I have heard

All mine raise their own goslings and are excellent sitters I have found they are one of the best for breeding and breed well
