 Post subject: What to expect

Hey there I am thinking of adopting some wild domestic ducks that were taken from a dries up waterway and I would like to know what to expect from them as in will them bite ect.. I have been told they are a mixed breed of muscovy as the base breed

They should settle fairly quickly just don't force them to become pets overnight it will take time and trust

No, adult ducks need the same food as chooks, they do prefer a mash though to pellets. Their only special requirement is a dish deep enough to wash themselves in.

I had 2 that arrived from our local swamp and they settle it within 2 weeks they were like all the other ducks here so yes they do adapt very quickly

I got some 3 month old ducklings from the lake that were rescued and they were great after just a couple of weeks

I got 2 wild white geese that were dumped and they are now 5 years old and are so good with the whole family

You should come to the lake near me its full of household ducks that people have dumped and some nice coloured ones too. I got a few from there and they get on well with the chooks and guinea fowls
