I have seen a few very old ducks and geese over my time some as old as 20 but they were never free range and were fed like kings and queens and that makes all the difference

With so many foxes around me I am lucky to have them more than 2 years if I free range any which I don't anymore

yes some will but most get taken by the %$&#*& fox even in day light if the fox is hungry enough = I have seen (while running across the paddock towards the birds) a fox take out a full grown Embden gander - this was before I had Maremma (and a good long range rifle)

Foxes are not keen of taking on geese in a flock so they try to pick out 1 but they would have to be hungry as its risky for them

Yep a Maremma is you answer best dog I have ever owned but needs LOTS of exercise and I mean LOTS
