I only did the drake in the end but I can tell you they can fly well mine can not like wild ducks but the females can fly up 7 or 8 feet on to the shed

I was told they don't fly but I also beg to differ all my ducks [females] can fly and not to bad at that

Seems like the females can fly but not the males too well

if you keep your ducks well feed and watered, dds44
1) they wont want to go anywhere else,
2) they will be fat enough so they wont be able to fly off to anywhere else
a happy duck is a fat duck(not obese just fat)

My ducks are way too heavy to fly but I would say only a little over weight

You do them at 1 or 2 weeks old is best older can be difficult
