Hey Guys,
I purchased a khaki campbell trio of ducks and one drake, I incubated a few eggs this season and one hatched out white. all the others are normal khaki coulouring, is this considered a throw back or something else?

cheers
H.

Almost certainly both parents carry the white gene which is recessive. The theoretical expectation from such a mating is one in four white offspring.

to be honest i cannot say whether they are totally pure or not i did see the parents and they looked pure, and were the only ducks the man had. The comment on recessive makes sense as i got one out of 5 ducklings but also the ducks and drake are direct siblings. So i must have two hets in the mix somewhere. Well the white one looks pretty cool. cant wait to see when it gets some more feathers

I hope they are pure, 1 in 5 sounds like the right odds for splits he or she will add a nice contrast the the darks

Im now questioning their purity, ive put some photos up of the white and 3 fo the normal looking ones their feathers are just coming through now. But i gave a friend of mine some ducks eggs at the same time for their kid to incubate in his new incubator and they produced this bugger which theyve given me, not sure what it means but i figured its probably a throwback. Hopefully you guys can confirm or deny what it is. as you can see hes got a white bib and white wing feathers coming through, i assume its not a pied.

looking forward to hearing what you think cheers
H.
