Yes, Weston, we can go back and see Farmer Wayne (a breeder north of Brisbane where Cleo was born and from whom we got the fertilised eggs from last year) for more eggs if needs be or maybe after winter when she goes broody again I will post online here and see if any other members may have eggs they want hatched (provided they live fairly close by :-D ) Now that she has snapped out of her broody ways she has gone from wanting F.A. to do with me to now demanding my attention and being a little clingy!!! Mind you, she always behaves this way until she goes back on the lay!!! At the moment, she'll stand down the bottom of the back stairs (that lead out into the backyard) and call out to me gradually getting louder and louder with her feathers standing up on top of her head (I call it her mohawk  ) until I go downstairs and give her pats, scratches, cuddles and kisses while she stands there making little cooing noises :-D (I know, she's one spoilt duck!!!) She'll then squat on the ground with her wings spread and tail pointing straight up and want me to breed with her!!!!! [smilie=a_rolling.gif] She'll also follow either myself or my partner around the yard and if I leave the gate open she'll follow me straight out of it and into the laundry!!! She just wants to be around us all the time at the moment.
I was also wondering what you and other members make of what I refer to as "Cleo's ha-ha" behaviour. You know, when ducks point their heads straight up at the sky with their beaks open and seemingly are laughing?? I wonder if that's what Cleo is actually doing sometimes when she does it :-D She seems to do it when she's extremely happy or excited in a good way like when I've been out for hours and I come home and she sees me or when I've got certain food or she wants certain food like a peice of spring onion, she'll stand in front of the table the pot is located on and go 'ha-ha" to my partner until he gives her a piece and she even does it after I've cleaned and changed her pool, she also will do it when I go and get her egg out of her box in the mornings (although I try not to let her see me do that) What do you think???

Food brings out the best in them when they want it from you not after they have eaten it though

:-D That's so true Chubby!! Cleo will sometimes do the "selective hearing" thing and completely ignore me when I call her (unless, of course, I've got food in my hand) or just look at me while she's chewing a beak full of grass and then just walk off in the other direction!!! Am happy to report she's back on the lay as of yesterday and over her clingyness and vocal carrying on's ;) She's also having a good old moult too.....
