They are called Rouen but they are just large mallards so mammoth mallard may be the right name for them. They are an eating breed duck first bred for the table and still are and are not know for good pets or the show bench as the quality's not there. Do you want them for eating or pets?

Cheers weston, so which breed would you recommend for family pets. I would still like the mammoth mallards but I could just have them for eating and another 1 or 2 breeds as pets. Would I have to keep the mammoths away from the pet breeds?

I would recommend

Khaki Campbell
Saxony
Muscovy
Welsh Harlequin
Swedish Blue
Aylesbury
Cayuga
Decoy (sometimes known as call ducks)
Indian Runner

The commercial meat breeds like Mammoth Mallard (rouen duck) are not for pets as Weston wrote but those in the list are good

So would the mammoth rouen mallards get on with pet breed ducks or because they are commercially bred they are a bit anti social?

I would not mix them because you dont want the commercial ducks polluting your good ones. The roune mallards should be kept away from the good breeds so they stay pure
