I havent looked closely at what kind of wire is on the coop itself (probably wont know until we go there to buy it). I bought some huge rolls of bird netting to make the fence for the veggie garden (which is now complete!) and I doubt full grown rats or mice could get through the gaps. We'll probably add a second layer of wire to the outside of the coop but we'll have to wait and see what kind of wire they used. |

Mice and even rats get in the tiniest of holes and even build elaborate burrows and nests near and under the coop. Wire on the ground with the run on top is a good way to deter them, but if they want to get in they will find a way. Our neighbour's chookies were taken by a fox recently ![]() viewtopic.php?f=6&t=14041 |

To stop foxes you need to use 9 gauge or more wire and also wire the ground inside if you do that foxes will not get in |
