So it's a law that you can't have a pink with purple green and orange polka dots if you wanted it? [smilie=a_blue.gif]

My chooks have never hurt ANYONE th_Noooo.gif

Life is JUST NOT FAIR these days, KEEP RURAL AREA RURAL!!!

ARGH! I hate people like that! Life can be so unfair.

We wil just have to make your coop really good so there is nothing they can say about it.

Yes, but you don't have a rooster now and you're not planning on getting one, so whether her son works for the shire or not you are still complying with the bylaws regarding your poultry. And they certainly can't prosecute you now for having HAD a rooster. If you happen to have a blue tarp used in your yard for one purpose or another is none of her business and certainly NOT an offense under the local law.

I just purchased something almost identical to this on Monday night - only cost me $50! I need to reno mine too as currently it's only opening/access is the door behind the nesting boxes (on the mezzanine level) which isn't all that practical.

I'd love to see pics of what you end up doing with this and I had wondered how it would fair in wet weather, so your comments about needing to weather proof it are handy too!

Cheers
Catherine

PP, apparently they HAVE to talk to you BEFORE they talk to the council, no matter who they are!

get some orange paint and paint your tarps red!
they have NO SAY in your garden and lifestyle!! (unless it's against the law.. since when was orange illegal?)
it's funny that they think they do!

but always remember to be polite when you tell them to go away [smilie=a_chuckle.gif]

I hope you can get help with the chookie cage

Philip

Thank you, kindly 52.gif Philip, for your support, we are always very polite, some people are just bullies and like to mind everybody else's business and control their lives.

Hi, Catherine wave.gif ,

It is too exposed to the elements, especially in the wet weather that's why we had a small tarp over the top half as a roof to keep the chookies and their food dry. I am hoping to put a more permanent roof on and rodent proof small gauge mesh on the bottom to keep the wee beasties out and also make it more fox/dog proof.

On very hot days we took the tarp off and put a shade cloth over.

Can you please post a photo or two of your Aframe to give people an idea so that they can help you too!

Thank you, kindly 52.gif
