I re-vamped an old wardrobe as a brooder. Takes up less room (as holds more chicks in 1 unit and looks great. Needs another shelf put in it so I have 3 brooders and a door bottom left for storage area.

I have been looking at an old swing set that the previous owners of our farm left behind. It has no swings left and is an "A" Frame design, all I think I would have to do is cut the legs down a little and cover it in some chicken wire.

We are converting an old BBQ to go into one of our coops. It has a tray under the elements which can act as a tray under roosts.

Well my coop was a second hand out of the paper at a cost of $50 a bargain considering I only need to patch up the wire. My next recycle of sorts was to buy ex battery hens 6 of them so every thing is recycled one way or the other

Has anyone used the recycled tyres as horse feeders?

Yep sure have - and I use the old large tractor tyres as dust baths for the birds = I get one of the lads from the tyre place to cut one side away so no water can sit in it and fill it with rice hulls - instant 'dust' bath - the tractor tyres work best with my brids coz they are a touch on the big side - car tyres are fine for smaller and bantam birds
