The system works with young chickens. They instinctively peck at it and need no training. It is best to put a small container of water under the nipple at first just to be sure.
I find that there is always some spillage when the birds drink from these and a catch container underneath is necessary if you don't want damp patched on the floor of brooders etc.

My sentiments also and I have found the same with chicks they take to the nipple like a human baby

They do look like a very good idea but you have to keep the pipe out of the sun or the water will be hot

There is no limit to hoe many its just making sure they all get access on warm days with out 1 hen hogging the nipple

Hi All im new here but i was wondering if anybody has ever brought the drinkers with the cups and the little lever inside it ive seen them advertised by royal rooster here in sa and another person with 20lt drums with these nipples or cups attached.
