Oh i think its real if the poisoning occurs due to anticoagulant which remains active in droppings and blood for up to six weeks according to my vet who was horrified I intended to use near poulty or cats..she kindly did some research for me and I threw is straight in the bin.

The brand she was talking about was Big Cheese from Bunnings.....i will wait the six weeks then let the cats back in.

Never tried it. ... Any poison thatkills vermin will kill poulty and cats..

When my mum was young she said everyone mixed builders Plaster of Paris with vegetables and cheese and when the rats ate it and then drank the mixture set like cement in their colon and they died a horrid death..i hated this idea but i am a sook..

I find the risk is more if your dog or cat eats the bait direct. I know my cat has eaten many half dead mice affected by bait [tallon or ratsak] and he's just turned 11 years old and fit as a fiddle but I guess there is a risk. Just my thoughts
