My mate has a few but he keeps them separate like all quails you should keep the california quails separate they can pick on other quails |

I breed California Quail and King Quail in the same aviary, they actually both lay in the same nest. I introduced them into the aviary both at the same time. I tried putting more hen king quails in there and they all picked on them. So i removed the new Hen Kings. When the kings have bubs, the cals actually look after them to. ![]() So the Conclusion is: Yes they can be housed together, but it is very wise you move them both to a new aviary both at the same time. ![]() |

So if I take out the stubbles and then put them all back say 2 weeks later would that work? |

I would say yes it probally will. I dont think it's the stubble quail you have to be worried about. It would be the Cals. They can be quite mean towards others. Just have a spare aviary to be safe. I dont see a problem in it. But better be safe then sorry. Cheers Nick. |
