These other theories are like a scratched record and its funny how they pop up every few months and its a different name but the same old tired rhetoric so I bet its the same person and now its just old and boring. I think they need to 'get over it'

No matter how much speculation or hypothesis theses twits go on about one thing is rock solid, set in cement and that is the name CINNAMON it will never change not now not 10 years from now NOT EVER and thats because EVERYONE knows the cinnamon guinea fowl as the cinnamon guinea fowl because it is the cinnamon guinea fowl both phenotype and genotype heck its even in the APS2 and no 2nd or 3rd year novice addicted to google will change that.

THE END

My last word on the pathetic "Name thing" is if anyone sees anyone advertise/post any of the following names as guinea fowl or similar then treat the advert as a possible scam and a dickhead that knows zero about guinea fowl. Add their name to the "never deal with" and move on.

Fawn Guinea fowl
Light lavender Guinea Fowl
Beige Guinea Fowl
Fallow Guinea Fowl
Buff Guinea Fowl

NONE of the above exist and are just sales pitches and pathetic at that. So do not be fooled

Ok so back to the real world, Ok so we all know that Margaret from SA bred and named the red eye silver mutation guinea fowl but Ace do you know from the records who bred and named the first red eyed cinnamon? was it Margaret also? I have read some of the records posted in GG but could not see the date for cinnamon and I went back past 1969 did she record that? I am guessing she would have with those detailed records

The first reference in on page 783 from 1967 when she purchased 3 quote: "cinnamon with the red eyes" from KT also in South Australia so we can rightly assume that KT bred the first red eye cinnamons and named them cinnamon but there are no official records or registration of geno or study to confirm. I laugh when I see that price she paid  He did of course get it 100% correct on the name all those decades ago and its the name that will never change.

Cheers Ace I did read that now and she mentions the cinnamons again from kt on page 891-1968.

So we should all thank kt of south australia for breeding and naming the cinnamon guinea fowl first. I hope he can hear us in spirit R.I.P

NM you could send an email to the leader in avian genetics

Dr Leo Joseph
Director and research leader of the Australian National Wildlife Collection

Dr Joseph was awarded:
a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Zoology and Genetics from the University of Adelaide, South Australia, in 1979
an Honours degree in Genetics, also from the University of Adelaide, in 1981
his Doctorate in the Department of Zoology, University of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia, in 1994.

In the email describe the breeding results the hundreds of breeders in Australia have experienced over 30 -40 years first hand from breeding the cinnamon.

For example - pearl x cinnamon = split males and cinnamon hens.

Also as we all know they are born, live and die with red eyes and pink skin without the eye darkening at all.

I will Pm you the email address.

I look forward to reading his reply.

Thanks CG I will use the draft I already emailed to other genetic experts, it has the details of the breeding combinations and keets that resulted from several thousand eggs hatched or more. I have no doubt he will say sex linked with the pairings I have described and the keets that were produced but it will be good reading like the others I have emailed so far. I hope he allows me to post it, I am sure he will ;)
