my jumbos are 1 1/2 times the weight of the normal japanese.
i'm going to sell all my other quail and just have the jumbos plus a laying line of browns.

Jap quails and bob whites are the eating species(not breeds) of quail some times even crosses of them

I have eaten Jap Quail eggs. I used to breed them. Very tasty eggs.

Boiled and added to salads.
Boiled and yolks curried and piped into whites as in chook eggs.
Boiled and put in curried mayonaise
