They cant harm them as their teeth are too short to get past the feathers

So folks, i got 6 Guineas from a breeder near Gympie ( 2 Silver, 4 Cinnamon) and so far so good, but ....they won;t shut up!

What's that about? 'Always shrieking and calling out...and they stay close to the house, not wandering off across the paddocks and they roost on the verandah railing - crapping on the boards all night. The breeder said they'd fly up into trees and mind their own business. Bah humbug!

'Got 3 more guineas on the weekend, including a cock bird. NOW they've started to quieten down...at last.

So with a spike in the weather this past few days, a few snakes have been seen. The Guineas and geese tell us quickly if they come out of the long grass near the railway line, BUT...i've found guinea eggs there too, but no-one sitting on them.
I grabbed a few with a pair of tongs to disguise any foreign smells and they were rotten.
So do I keep a better eye out for the eggs and remove them to an incubator in future? Are they fickle mothers?

thanks for any advice given,
Andrew
