I had 12 guinea fowl. 4 of these were raised by hens. The others are the family of my original pair. Some of you may remember my Queets? They are lilac pied.

One of the keets raised by the hens has not fully bonded with the other guinea fowl. I have 9 come over the run fence and poke around us and follow me around.
The odd one out still hangs out with the chooks. It is stuck by the hip to the main rooster. When he finds food he calls the girls and the keet is right there to get food. The rooster will even pick food up and feed it to the keet.
I find this rather strange. He is not a tiny baby, he is almost full grown. Will be in a couple of months.
Has anyone else had this sort of thing happen? Will he eventually run with the other 9? I say he because I haven't heard the noise to know if he or she yet. It is a quiet bird when I am around.

Hi NellyG, I agree, but 3 otherswere raised by chooks and they are running with the other
G Fowl. I gave the chooks a bit of left overs like cooked rice and chopped up cooked eggs. They loved it. The rooster fed the Keet along with the chooks. It even cuddles up to either a chook or the rooster at night. I suppose it will join the others soon. I am waiting to find out what sex it is. Could be a hen as it is not a big bird. Will keep you posted over the next week or so. I might even take a photo as well.
