It would be good to get the break down on what hatched and what didn't as in breeds, lots of talk about some breeds that did not?

Now Brissysussex. By Fowlmans own link provided page 4 Meredith clearly states hatch exceeded 65% so that is a fact.

Everything will be out in due course. Those breeders thinking about getting into the 2nd import may be deterred by this hmmmmm speculation making the 2nd import attempt just that little less viable.

Thats it.

Actually she says it exceeded the expected 50% and was "About" 65% she does not clearly state over 65% so not a fact, sorry.

[smilie=welcome.gif] Fred, yes that will be good to know and I am sure we will find that out ;)

Thanks for the welcome fowlman

I got your message and thanks for that also

I am surprised there is little interest in the imports, most I have spoken to say there are not interested in them and feel its to expensive but I think its not too costly when you work on a per egg price. I think the risk factor puts most off but if the first import is successful and its got a long way to go yet then maybe that will get a handful more interested. Its all very interest to me and looking forward to that list you mention in the message fowlman

Welcome to the forum Fred [smilie=welcome.gif]

A lot of people I talk to are against the imports. The reason for this is that we do not get to see the parent stock in the flesh so we don't know what quality we are bringing into the country.

I am all for the imports and think that it is good that afterso many years we finally get new blood for our existing breeds and some new breeds to. I hope that one day I will be able to participate in one of the syndicates aswell.

Regards
Rhys

Yes that is the most common comment made to me at the clubs/shows. Most will wait until they are bred here and then look very very closely at the progeny bred before buying.

I hope that's not the best example or many will be very disappointed

Your welcome Fred, interest in the imports has dropped I think many feel its a secret squirrel club and to much secrecy with the parent stock and that puts people off I think.

Thanks for the link Fowlman

I hope that the Spanish are good and they hatch successfully.

I do think that different breeds are better in quality or are different in other countries.
For example both Silkies and Hamburghs are completely different in America to what they are here. With future importations I think that we should switch between different countries and get different breeds from each of those countries.

Also someone needs to import Krainkoppes and Spanish ;)
