According to this breeders website

This is what a Platinum Sussex looks like:
http://www.heritagehatchingandhens.com. ... egory=3123

And this is what a Silver Sussex looks like:
http://www.heritagehatchingandhens.com. ... ategory=27

To my understanding his family has been into breeding chickens since 1945 so you would hope they know what they're talking about.

Never seen a Buff Coronation Sussex though, so can't help you there. conf665

Cheers

Yeah I know right! , I thought the exact same thing that i thought they might be really pretty in the flesh, but when I was there the other day, they just look like a washed out grey.

They really didn't excite me all that much :-?

I still love the speckled Sussex the best :-D, well my Clara actually. The speckled Sussex he had weren't as pretty as Clara either.

I think that's a typical mothers love

I agree, not a fan of light sussex either one of the most boring common colours to me but the speckled are nice and I don't mine the silver either.

So can I clarify is silver and platinum the same colour?

Platinum and Lavender are the same colour and genetically exactly the same.

They are both autosomal recessive Phaeomelanin.... llav+/Ppla
