Its a little exciting I guess but if only a few hatch then lots of money down the drain

Its the luck of the draw so breeds will do ok and some not IF they get 50% they will be doing well

Expressions of interest are invited from breeders wishing to purchase part shares in my 2015 ARPIS II syndicate importation.

I currently have already committed to parcels of Copper French Marans, Penedesenca, Vorwerk and Lackenvelder, which I will share on a percentage basis with a suitable partner.

I am also considering the following breeds: French Wheaten Marans, Jersey Giants and Appenzellers.

For those unfamiliar with the importation process – birds are sourced and housed in the U.K. then eggs are sent for hatching to South Australia. Meredith Parker set up the first importation – known as ARPIS I and these birds are due to hatch this month. After quarantine checks they will be released to the syndicate members. Meredith currently has ARPIS II planned for 2015 and has called for new syndicate members. To become a member you must commit approximately $2700 for the full parcel. As ARPIS II accept full parcels only then people wishing for a trio or two will miss out and have to wait until breeders offload their parcels. Trios from imported birds can be expected to be very expensive, therefore I am offering a cheaper, stress free alternative, for those who wish to start with a few birds only and who don’t have the opportunity to purchase the full share.

Contact Terry at rarebreedspoultry@gmail.com for further details if you are interested.

I looked at the syndicate but as you cannot see the parent flock and rumours of them being sub standard I pulled out and so glad I did now. I agree wait 2 or 3 years and buy them for 1/3 the price and you can see them

I have heard similar comments and I think its odd you cannot see pictures of the UK flock the eggs are coming from, the secrecy is silly and not necessary, gosh they are just chooks  it will turn many off who don't buy fowl blindly ;)

P.s Fowlman did you get the email reply with the list?

LL I sent you a pm with a copy, I will post it when I edit some stuff out.

Its interesting the "buy eggs sight unseen parents" especially from another country so the critique of the chicks as they grow and breed (if they hatch, if they survive, if they breed) will be full on from all of us, lets hope the owners are thick skinned ;)

Thank you fowlman very interesting reading.

I agree the first pictures that come out (if they come out of quarantine) of the imports will be under very close scrutiny very close and the comments will come thick and fast so lets hope IF they come out they are good and of high value ;)
