Well, we are ready to become chookie owners again! 
New, very high and sturdy fence on the "dog" side. New chook pen fashioned out of an old bird aviary plus the old timber chook pen, with perches made out of our daughter's old playpen. Wire replaced where necessary and new wire laid just under the surface for a metre right around the entire chook pen to keep foxes out. 
) My best layer, hands down, was my plain old leg horn. I have just hatched a Legbar because I wanted some colour. I also have in the mix some Plymouth rocks, Aracuanas (they lay a bluish egg) some Blue Langshans and a leg horn, however they are only a couple of days old so we shall see how they go!
