I have been told to use builders limestone mixes in with the soil then wash in to prevent worms is this an old wives tale or does it work. I was also told that if I did this I don't need to worm the chooks, ever?

You can use builder’s limestone but it should be below the top soil and not on the surface. Yes you will still need to worm your chooks the limestone does work but not miracles

If you use the limestone make sure it’s a reasonable depth or it won't work

It works but not permenantely, you will still have to worm but not as often.

It is also supposed to deter fleas breeding in the soil.

Lime powder is great for fleas don't know about worms though. I'm a total newb when it comes to chickens but I have had jap quails and keep some other small animal which i have wormed all of them with wormout gel

"copied and pasted" Soluble bird wormer. Oxfendazole and Praziquantel are the actives in Wormout Gel. They are recognised as two of the safest wormers available and their combination covers all the major worm species found in birds includingThread Worm, Tapeworm, Roundworm, Caecal Worm, and Hook Worm
