Thanks but I wonder though is it harmful to chicks?

It is quite safe to use in chicks. In fact, part of the directions state: "Preventative programs. Administer Baycox on days 9 and 10, 16 and 17, and 23 and 24 of life"

Is it better to use chick starter or turkey starter for the meds?

Use the right medicated feed for the species. Would you use turkey starter to feed your bantam chicks? If not, then don't use medicated turkey starter for them either.
Turkey poults have higher protein requirements than chickens and bantams for proper growth. Overdoing the protein could be deleterious for chicken/bantam chicks.

Also, the medications used in the two mixes are different and the turkey ant-coccidial additive can be toxic to chicken chicks.

Sorry EnsuiteCoop,

I did not mean any offence.
I would not advise using turkey grower for bantam chicks because of the differences in their growth requirements and the potential problems I mentioned in my last post.

Cheers

The meds used are on the label of the bag as its law.

Chick starter usually has - Sodium salinomycin at the rate of 60 mg/kg for the prevention of caecal and intestinal coccidiosis

Turkey starter usually has - Lasalocid sodium at the rate of 95 mg/kg for the prevention and control of coccidiosis
