hi guys .who is showing there chickens this year . ? as i would like to hear what birds you have

I heard that a best time to show is when a pullet comes into lay, so if one of my birds meet the standard at that age i will defiantly look into it

no class for my breed, small ag show, so had to enter any other breed, got 1st :lol:

cool a first. i dosent matter if there was no other birds there . remember judges only give prizes to good birds

Ya know Jase i've been toying around with the idea of showing a couple of my bantams but i really don't know anything about showing them :oops:

i was just like you mate .i never had a go because i was worried what to do , and i would look like a dill, but the old hands there will help out anyone new to showing, last year was my first season . its great once you know what to do and the first win is just great . have a go 8)

Gday everyone,we had our first show last weekend we took12 birds 4 birds 1st ,3 got a 2nd card and my blue/red Malay cockeral was reserve champion I showed OEG,Belgians,frizz,Indian,Malay and pits,next weekend I will take a few different birds and I might try our Call ducks but they are still abit young I think but its good to get them used to show pens and strange surroundings,shows are a great day out and a good way to learn more,my son is 11 and follows the judge around to get hints on dos and donts on showing look for his photo in "The Land"news paper with my Malay in the next few weeks if you get it .hope to see you at a show one day and next year the Sydney Royal Cheers Grahame
