Faults And Defects
Drooping Comb. Missing Toe nail. Leg colour other
than as specified as above.
Centre toe bare of feathers.
Split or divided fronatl breast feathering. Non-Standard eye colour.
Fly-Away combs on Males.
Enamel White in Earlobes.
Blushed white and Paleness in Lobes.
Purple Sheen on Black Plumage. Double serrations on combs.
White beaks and legs in the white variety.

Disqualifications
Twisted comb (deformed). Side Sprigs on Comb.
Slipped Wing. Split Wing. Wry Tail. Crooked Breast.
Missing toe joint any other deformity. Fraudulent dyeing, plucking or trimming.

Thats great the scale of points is interesting would be good to have all the breeds posted

I agree it would be good to have the standards available on the internet. The only problem with that would be the standards are covered by copyright laws.

also each country has its own standard and who's to say someone wont 'insert' another country's std or part thereof hoping to make their birds 'more standardised'

I will give you my honest opinion about the first edition of the australian standards. I feel that certain breeds in the standards were written to suit certain lines. The one breed standard that annoys me is the australian Langshan. I feel the current standard for Langshans has hurt the breed in some ways. The standard that had been used up to 1997 was the one written in 1960 or 1962 by the Langshan club. The standard back then read for the tail angle of Langshans ‘ of an angle about 35 degrees ’ but the current standard reads ‘ of an angle up to 35 degrees ’. Now, i have used a protractor on photos of winning Langshans from around australia and the majority of them are flat out being 20 degrees. The langie of my sons which i bred in my moruya ag show thread carries her tail between 35 - 40 degrees all day long. I could go on and on about the langie standards but im only beating a horse with a wet rag. I cant wait to see if anything has changed with the langie standards in the new edition.

I forgot to add that its good to have a set standard for breeds to use as a guide but its not always for the betterment of some breeds. The standards can be interpreted many different ways so in the end how do you establish who is right and who is wrong. I say breed them to what you think is the correct standard

I don't think the scale of points is in anyway a copyright issue as it’s the judging scale of points and is common knowledge. I think the scale of point could have Australia in the title so we know which country it is for?

the word GUIDE should be used much more than it is or has been in the recent past as there is no such thing as the 'perfect to the standard' bird to achieve that absolute perfection - well - - - - yeah - - - -
the best we can hope for is a bird that is very pleasing to the eye
I am very hard on Orps [being my specialty breed] but have never expected perfection - just beauty :-D
