I am the same, all mine are mongrel breeds so a ring would be a waste but do like the idea, maybe one day I may get some decent fowls and then ring them :-?

I ring all my quamby chickens at 4 months and no probs

Its been working now for 10 odd years and its awesome, all the good breeders use the rings and the dodgy ones don't ;)
