Post subject:  I.D. my turkey please.

Hi all.
First post so go easy.
About a year ago we purchased a property that came with a large white male turkey. He has been gobbling like mad come spring and i imagine he would like some lady friends. I have been reading up and am unsure if he is a broad brested white or perhaps just a white turkey. If he is a broard brested then i presume he can not breed, and would be hesitant to get more of them because i would like to have chicks in the future. If he is a standard white turkey (not sure if these exist) then i would be more than happy to find him some friends. Fluffed up he looks like a really big bird, but when unfluffed he is only about 3 times the size of a chook. If he is unbreedable i would probably get a different breed to keep him company.
I heard he is about 15 years old but have no way of confirming this.

P.s yes its unlikely he will breed because of his breast but you can try?

Thanks for the reply, i will try to find some mates for him. He is such a lovely bird, it would be a shame if he can not produce any offspring.

A mate of mine has the same looking turkeys and some of his breed and some don't its their wide and large beast that stops them from making proper contact if you know what I mean
