Hello!

I am a 15 week old rooster with a lovely non agressive nature. I am bantam size with small feathers on the outside of my legs and feet. May back and tail feathers have a tinge of green not unlike the colour of my Australorp friends. I am guessing I am a cross breed. Can anyone tell me what I am?

Thank you - Black Beauty (BB)

Looking at your list of breeds, I would say it is a Wyandotte x Australorp

Hi Spotted Egg,
We hatched him from some fertile eggs my neighbour came home with from the Whittlesea market. The dozen eggs were a mixed lot. So we don't know his breed. I am thinking along the lines of a birchen Rosecomb x Pekin or Cochin as he has feathers on his feet.

I'd say, a 15 week old bantam size cockerel of mixed parentage :-?

Hope your neighbour didn't pay an exorbitant price for the fertile eggs.

Thankfully my neighbour paid only $6 for the dozen. I initially hatched the chicks for her, but she changed her mind when they weren't silkies or araucanas :( Anyway, the two chicks are now 15 weeks and a lovely addition to our flock.

Whatever he is, he's BEAUTIFUL! :) And nice that he has a lovely nature, too.
