Hey Chickadee
Thanks to asking! Olivia and Morag, silver Sussex, have settled in well and keeping Ari warm as she went through a huge moult and looks a little ridiculous. They are huge compared to my wee bantam girl!

Is Ari under them??? Or is that just Olivia & Morag having a bath.

They're sweet looking.

I hope they are good to Ari :-D

Hey Chickadee!
They are getting on really well, the last couple days Ari has been the piggy in the middle on the perch so she is keeping nice and warm, and she seems boss - her quick and perky personality has her miles ahead of the big girls who are rather shy.
They are picking out the pellets and spitting them all over the floor though, oh my it is a mess. There is a tiny bit of grain in there which they seems to be hunting down.

hope you had a good weekend!

Fabulous news a_bravo.gif

So glad they're all getting along. [smilie=a_goodjobson.gif]

I don't buy chook food with pellets in it any more for that exact reason :-?

Now I buy the top layer mash that is a bit more pulverised & the girls are just as happy & their egg production is fantastic.

The pellets have the majority of the protein that they need, so if they're not eating the pellets then they may not be getting the correct amount required for good egg production & health requirements.

Food for thought.

Cheers
Chicka-Dee

Sorry for those lost loved hens!

FYI, if anything happens again, (chicks won't eat, do nothing, looking drowsing, lost lot of weight...etc) try give them some fresh garlic. Just chop them into small round pieces so the chick can swallow when you put the garlic in the chick's mouth. Just 2 or 3 small pieces each time and hope that they will start eating again slowly. It cured my chicken and hope it will cure your too!
