I am wondering if I can keep 2 male peafowl together - or are they like roosters and fight unless reared together?

There is no one answer because they are all different so some will get on and others will fight. The younger you get them the better but that is still no guarantee if one becomes the dominant male then he will chase off the other. Are you planning on having any peahens?

Same as pheasants some will tolerate 2-3 males together and some will fight it is all about personality

If you raise them together from peachicks then usually the answer is yes but they will develop personalities and that will determine how they are as mature peacocks

I have 3 males roaming our property and they are all 3 brothers so your right bluepeafowl as ours were raised together and get on well. In the breed time they all spend all day every day displaying to all the caged peahens much to the disgust of the peacocks in the cage with the peahens but it keeps the 3 amigos happy on the outside and keeps all the peacocks on their toes on the inside. The 3 amigos move up and down all 20 cages impressing the peahens in each.

WOW Tolmie!

You say Peahen's' in each so you have 40+ peahens!! with that amount you would be putting 'Peacocks Australia' out of business!!

I would love to see a pic of all the pens! wow im imagining it.... just woh! do you have all the colours/patterns: White, Dark Pied, Reverse Pied, Split and Blue???

I wonder if i could get some birds from you??? and come and check out your pens, all 20 of them!!

I was trying to be nice :-D

As to PA having 400 BREEDING peahens i am a little sinicle, as in previous posts they have stated that their usual expected annual number of eggs if around 700, so if they have 400 hens then that would mean that their hens lay 1-2 eggs per season and i dont believe that is the case :-|
