Hello, Mr. wickedwings,

Here are a couple of photos as requested, The Pretty One and Lady Frances were under the spruce tree for most of the afternoon.

Priscilla looooves to dust bathe, but when she is in the salon she sits on top of my washing machine like she is a queen ready to be pampered :lol:

But....I can't jump ahead of myself.

Too many horror stories out there to be counting my chickens before they're hatched. Even if it is one named Miss Prissy.

The barnie chicks are bigger than their mum but I don't have many of them left.

All the biggest ones are from the australorps or the lohman, the 3 small white ones in the sort of second row from the top are Tandoori's, they have a very thick shell and are always the hardest to crack open. The 2 medium sized ones down the bottom right are from one of the silkies and possibly one of the young plymouths who is just starting to lay.

Thanks for the photo PP, the poor Pretty One is looking a little bedraggled.

hi chicka dee I would love to give my chicken Margaret a bath but dont know what product to use or do i just use shompoo?

I used Redwin Sensitive Skin Sorbolene Body Wash on Lady Frances' fluffy bottom.

Normal shampoo may be too harsh on a chookie's skin.

Is Priscilla queen of your laundry?

I went as Laura Ingalls author of Little House On The Prairie one year for the Book Week Parade; the Easter Bonnet is a scaled down version of the bonnet I wore. Just a semi circle with vintage lace trim and ribbon. The girls would look ever so pretty together!

To my understanding you can use any low-irritant animal shampoo. I use an Aloe Vera Soap free gel which is for sensitive skinned animals. I have also read on some posts that some people use baby shampoo.

If you look up the Stickies under the Chickens for "How to prepare my chook for a show" there are a few suggestions like Woolwash, but then one other wrote:

"There's one called Clux Flakes.

Or you could try Cussons Imperial Feather.

Palmolive Gold-laced is popular.

Or for the 1/3 moisturising cream that only a soap named after a bird could give you, try Dove"

They're all pretty funny, but I don't think they are real!!

Hey PP.
Some of my girls go quite bald in patches when they moult. So many feathers lying around it looks like a huge pillow fight.
