Dude rooster?

Hello,

I have a rooster that shows no interest in mating with any of the 6 girls I have. He will tell the girls there are treats on the ground by that noise they make and does his wing thing but he isn't doing the deed that I have ever seen unlike the other 2 roosters. Any ideas? Could he be gay?

Should I have said he is a bearded silky like the others

You don't have to see the rooster jump on the hens. Just have faith he's doing it when you're not there only :-D

. Just like my Yokohama rooster, I nearly gave up hope but after a pour of rain and with a wet ground I only knew he was doing his job behind my back. Why I knew? because of the wet red dirt all over the white hens back.

Do you have 2 other roosters or have I a read your post wrong? Maybe he is at the bottom of the rank in the the rooster pecking order and less dominant than the other two?

We had an exhibitionist rooster only did it in full view of the neighbours when they were out.

I can relate to this with an australorp roo I had a few years ago he was in with 4 hens all youngish and he was in his prime and for 3 years he never gave me 1 fertile egg so eventually I gave him the chop and got another within 3 week I had fertile eggs form the same hens. So I know you can get dude roos thats for sure, worst part was I paid $110 for the first rooster

So what would cause infertility in roosters?

The rooster is about 1 and 1/2 year old I do have 2 other roosters but they are all separate with their own girls to look after and they both give me chicks but not mr dude. I wonder the same why would he not be mating or why he maybe infertile

Have you tried trimming him, perhaps he's not making proper contact.

my dad cuts the feathers around all the chooks bums both the males and females and it makes them mate properly
