I have been doing much research (over the last 12 months since hatching out my babies) into wing sexing, & for the commercial/utility breeds this is always the case, as they (not sure who "they" are) have purposely bred commercial chickens to be able to be sexed by this method. This is how they can guarantee selling you girls. i have found around 3 days old seems to be the optimum time to sex them via their wings with ease.
